Working With A Shaman

Since the beginning of time, certain men and women have felt called to heal the sick,  safeguard ancient knowledge, guide the lost and commune with the spirit world. These unique individuals, known as shamans, were mystics and seers, repositories of wisdom, and keepers of herbal lore. During those periods when ignorance loomed large in the world, shamans across the globe went "underground", peacefully practicing their practical yet refined arts in the jungle, mountains, deserts, and tundra that protected them from those who misunderstood their ways. Today, however, shamanism has reemerged, as modern men and women feel the same call to serve that their ancestors felt long ago. Also, as more people explore the notion that healing necessarily involves the soul as well as the physical self, people are consulting shamans in their search for wellness, wisdom, and guidance.

The word shaman literally means "he or she who knows." Shamanism is an art that has not changed in any quantifiable way for millennia and is not bound to any particular form of spirituality. It is grounded on the principle that the visible world is saturated with unseen forces that influence the lives of human beings. Shamans, in addition to acting as fonts of wisdom, are dedicated to diagnosing and curing human suffering—whether emotional, physical, or spiritual. To treat an illness, a shaman may communicate with the spirit world in order to connect more directly with the soul of their client or with the force causing ill health. They often work closely with animal guides, plant and earth spirits, or your spirit guides, and may make use of use of herbal remedies to supplement other forms of treatment. Shamans, as intermediaries between the physical and spiritual realms, recognize that all objects are in manner alive and retain information that can be utilized to heal.

Shamanism is powerful in part because its practitioners tailor healing to the individual needs of those who seek them out. A shaman manipulates energy, giving you power where you have lost it and removing misplaced energy lurking within you. When you seek out a shaman, they will endeavor to know and understand you before treating you. In this way, they can provide you with therapies that act on your whole being, positively influencing your body as well as your soul.

SOUL RETRIEVAL

There are many reasons for soul loss.  Living in an abusive situation may cause part of one's soul to leave in order to protect itself from the violence.  Sometimes a child with fighting parents may prompt the soul to hide because of fear.  If a trauma involving impact is about to occur, the soul may leave to avoid being effected by the force of the accident. If a loved one is lost, the soul may part until you are ready to deal with the grief. All of these are healthy mechanisms of protection.  In some cases the soul part will return on its own.  However, if it does not realize how to return, or does not know that it is safe to return, I can assist in the return of that missing piece.

SOME INDICATIONS OF SOUL LOSS:

• Feeling depressed or incomplete
• Symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome
• Inability to move past an issue despite efforts to do so
• Feelings of lack of progress, apathy
• Memory of an incident in your past associated with loss, *I feel that I lost something that I never got back*
• Yearning to return to a person, or a location, without logical reason to do so
• Lost memories, like a part of your history is "missing"
• Feeling that soul retrieval may help

While conducting soul retrieval, you are held in a sacred space surrounded with unconditional love and protected from interferences of the outside world.

 

Power Animal Retrieval

Throughout all indigenous cultures, animals are most important allies to a Shaman. Shamans believe we are born with guardian animal spirits that help us through life giving us the gifts of their qualities and strengths. Generally we have 9 totem animals each moving freely through our lives to aid and guide us on our journey through life. Unfortunately our connection to animals has become lost as more concrete appears, more countryside disappears and fewer wild animals roam free.

A power animal retrieval can often bring confidence, strength and empowerment, enabling you to receive guidance, a love of all life and a reconnection to nature and the resonance of Mother Earth.

I've found that this healing is excellent for children who have experienced severe trauma through bullying, parents divorcing, or a death of a loved one, as it brings comfort and great empowerment to them having a personal animal friend to confide in and trust.

Instructions will be given to help maintain, build a unique relationship and honor your power animal after the retrieval.

This healing can be performed as a distance healing.

 

HUNA HEALING (KAHI LOA) Hawaiian Shamanism

Virtually unknown outside of Hawaii, this shamanic healing modality combines light touch with mental focus and feedback for amazingly fast and deep results.  The elements of nature work with the practitioner and client, reminding us of our interconnectedness.

The session is divided into seven segments, each corresponding to a natural element and has its mental focus on the client's desired state of physical or emotional health, which is affirmed prior to treatment. During the practical applications, a journey through Nature is silently visualized for the client and complemented by further non-verbal affirmative statements, using the symbolic meaning of the elements.

The treatment is completed with a prayer, asking for all energy to flow freely into the blessing and manifestation of the client's required changes and followed by an appropriate period of rest.
